Dr Abhay Rathore

Dr Abhay Rathore is a Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry with more than 20 years experience of working in the NHS and Independent sector. Dr Rathore works in a Tier 4 CAMHS Inpatient Service leading a team of skilled multidisciplinary professionals to provide care to complex and challenging patients who need an inpatient stay. He routinely writes reports for the Mental Health Act Tribunals. He runs an outpatient clinic for private patients and provides service to the Independent Sector hospitals as well. 

Dr Rathore is based in Leicestershire but can be instructed nationwide as an expert witness to write medico-legal reports in cases where a Child or an Adolescent Psychiatrist is required. He understands his duty to the Court and has undertaken specific Bond Solon Expert Witness training in report writing; courtroom skills and Family Law & Procedure. 

His areas of expertise range from mild to more complex or severe psychiatric conditions including;
Affective Disorders (Anxiety, Depression) Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, OCD, Conduct Disorder, Eating Disorders, Attachment Disorders, Post traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Emerging Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia and Early Onset Psychosis.

Dr Rathore is comfortable in using the second and third line medication and confident in the use of psychotropic medication for complex cases. He has excellent understanding of the different psychological therapies used in clinical practice e.g. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and is experienced in using Behavioural therapy and Family therapy.

Dr Rathore has full GMC registration and is approved by the Secretary of State under the Section 12 of the Mental Health Act.
