Dr Aarya Prabhakaran

Dr Aarya Prabhakaran is a General Practitioner and Expert Witness based in Greater Manchester. He qualified in 1998 and completed his GP VTS scheme in 2006. Dr Prabhakaran has a special interest in diabetes, cardiovascular disease and joint injections.

He has been a GP partner since 2008 and is currently, executive partner of Firways Health Centre. He is also a GP advisor (GTD Healthcare) dealing with clinical complaints and performance. Additionally, Dr Prabhakaran is a lead GP for post graduate training, GP appraiser (NHS England), specialist advisor for CQC (Care Quality Commission), Chair of the LMC and Direct Medical GP Expert (MedCo). He remains passionate about improving efficiency, quality and reducing bureaucracy in General Practice.

Dr Prabhakaran is experienced in relation to medico-legal matters regarding complaints or performance for the in hours GP practices, the urgent care centre and the out of hours services. He is able to review through the information and/or complaint to where there may be professional negligence, delay diagnosis, mis-diagnosis, failure to diagnose or missed opportunity and provide clinical factual opinion. In addition to this he is currently undertaking his CUBS certification.
