I am a Consultant in Stroke and Acute Medicine with substantial experience in acute care, complex stroke management, and medico-legal practice. I currently serve as Deputy Head of Safety in my Trust, where I lead investigations into serious incidents, support clinical governance processes, and contribute to structured learning through mortality reviews and Patient Safety Risk Factor Identification (PSRFI). I work closely with coroner services to ensure accurate and transparent documentation in cases involving preventable harm or unexpected deaths.
I have completed the Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificate Training (Cardiff University) and am currently awaiting final results.
My expert witness work has involved producing reports covering a wide range of clinical issues including:
Intravenous thrombolysis in acute ischaemic stroke
Mechanical thrombectomy – eligibility, delays, and outcomes
Intracerebral and subdural haemorrhage – delayed diagnosis and intervention
Impact of discontinuing anticoagulation in stroke and cardiology patients
Stroke misdiagnosis, TIA and mimics
Missed or delayed diagnosis of pulmonary embolism and aortic dissection
Varied sepsis presentations and delayed escalation
Intestinal obstruction and unrecognised abdominal emergencies
My medico-legal reports are structured, evidence-based, and written in clear, impartial language. Drawing from my frontline clinical experience and governance leadership role, I provide well-reasoned, balanced opinions that reflect both individual clinical actions and broader systemic factors. I am committed to supporting the legal process with professionalism and clarity.
