Richard Thomas is an experienced Forensic Photographer and has worked on a freelance basis with Forensic Scientists and Police in the UK, including:
Metropolitan Police, Alecto Forensics (now Forensic Access), The Hut Group, O'Neill Morgan, Chester University, Staffordshire University, Keele University, Photofile, LGC Forensics (now Eurofins) and as a Forensic Image specialist with Greater Manchester Police.
Richard is also in core working practice at CopperTree Forensics implementing the design and manufacture of Forensic Lasers, FVMD and LED light sources, supporting UK & International Law Enforcement agencies, Forensic Services, Infection Prevention specialists and Universities, developing ground breaking forensic products, advising and supporting your ongoing requirements. As a crime scene photographer with the Metropolitan police for seven years, I photographed many hundreds of victims of crime, personally arranging appointments at their home/work address, studio or hospital. For the following eight years I worked at a forensic imaging laboratory for a private forensic company, photographing exhibits and obtaining fingerprints and footwear marks, enhancing details for maximum evidential value.
More recently I managed audio and video evidence for a global clinical trial and I am now working at CopperTree Forensics, supplying lasers and forensic light sources to the UK and international forensic market. I continue to work on instructions from solicitors providing images for personal injury claims, including medical negligence. Images are scaled, high quality and adhere to Home Office guidelines for digital photography evidence.
