I have been a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at Ipswich Hospital since 2010. It is the largest specialist spinal unit in the region.

My practice is exclusively spinal encompassing both elective and emerency spinal surgery.

All aspects of spinal surgery undertaken, with the exception of paediatric deformity, intradural work and primary spinal tumour resection. I have a sub-speciality interest in cervical spinal surgery with extensive experience of cervical arthroplasty. I also undertake spinal surgery under regional anaesthetic and maintain an interest in the non-operative management of back pain.

Comprehensive multi-disciplinary team including physiotherapists, rheumatologists, radiologists, pain physuicianns and psychologists. Weekly primnary care MDTs.

I have a busy private practice which mirrors my NHS practice. This is based out of the renowned Gilmour Piper & Associates, a large mutidisciplinary MSK practice.

I have a large and well established medico-legal practice involving both personal injury and clinical negligence over 15 years. I undertake around 150 reports a year. These cases are from both agencies and solicitors. My cases are split equally between defendant and claimant. My negligence work includes breach of duty & causation as well as condition & prognosis work. I regularly produce joint reports with other experts. In my capacity as a medical expert witness, I am experienced in conference with cousel and have attended court in this capacty.

Medico legal lead for Regional Spinal Unit. This requires review od all spinal legal cases across Hub and Spoke Network of Ipswich Hospital and referring Trusts. Frequent conferences with solicitors, barristers and round table discussions.
