Details

I am a full-time substantive Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Same Day Emergency Care at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, one of Europe’s busiest single-site trauma teaching hospitals. The QMC regularly features in national media including BBC2’s Hospital and Channel 4’s 24 Hours in A&E. I have been a Consultant since 2012 and served as Head of Service (Clinical Director) for the Emergency Department between 2022–2025.

I began my medicolegal practice in 2020 and completed the Bond Solon Excellence in Report Writing certificate in 2022. My instructions are currently split 60:20:20 between claimant, defendant and single joint expert work. I accept instructions in the following areas and am able to produce a report within 8 working days of meeting a client:

  • Personal Injury: Employers’ liability, public liability, and road traffic accidents (including low velocity impact).

  • Clinical Negligence: Including causation and prognosis.

  • Trauma & Emergency Cases (16+ years): Burns, lacerations, wounds, fractures, dislocations, head/neck injuries, chest injuries, inhalational injuries, and complex soft tissue trauma.

  • Negligence Screening & Desktop Reports

I have been directly instructed by HM Coroners and have given evidence in court. In my NHS role I also produce coroner reports. Alongside clinical and medicolegal work, I serve on the Workforce Panel of the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health & Social Care Workforce, King’s College London, contributing to policy and research around workforce planning in emergency care.

I am APIL-registered and currently complete around 20% defence work, offering balanced and reliable opinion evidence.

As an Emergency Physician, I have expertise in producing reports for patients aged 16 and over covering minor injury and major trauma cases. Such cases may include burns, lacerations or wounds, head or neck injuries, upper and lower limb soft tissue injuries, inhalational and chest injuries and the emergency management of fractures and dislocations.
