Mr. Steven Borland

I work at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary, which is the regional major trauma centre.

I have a particular interest in complex fractures and reconstruction, including pelvis and acetabular fractures, complex periarticular fractures, and limb reconstruction after trauma, including the use of specialist Ilizarov techniques and circular frames.

I also have an interest in the management of skeletal infections and fracture related infections.

I also perform lower limb arthroplasty of hip and knee, including robotic assisted joint replacement and osteotomies around the knee. 

I have experience in preparation of medical reports for both personal injury and clinical negligence claims. I have worked closely with a number of law firms representing both claimant and defendant. 

I am a member of the British Limb Reconstruction Society, the Orthopaedic Trauma Society, the British Trauma Society and the British Orthopaedic Association
