Mr Timothy Bull is a senior Spinal Consultant at the Royal Free Hospitals NHS Trust, with honorary Consultant posts at both The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore and The Whittington Hospital, Highgate. He was Clinical Lead for Orthopaedics at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals 2011-2016, and Clinical Lead for Spine Surgery at the Royal Free Hospitals 2016-2023. His practice now is exclusively degenerate spinal conditions from cervical spine to pelvis and coccyx. He has a major interest in cervical spine surgery and endoscopic lumbar surgery.
Mr Bull has expertise dealing with acute disc prolapse, including fenestration and discectomy. He is proficient at discography and pain clinic techniques, minimally invasive discectomy, spinal decompression and the techniques of cervical discectomy and fusion, thoracic and lumber fusion, pedicular instrumentation and the management of spinal trauma.
Mr Bull has been an examiner for the FRCS(Orth) intercollegiate examinations and has lectured extensively in the UK and Europe on many spinal topics
Mr Bull has experience in “non-fusion” technology and spinal arthroplasty, including Dynesys, flexible rods and TOPS implants, Prosthetic Disc Replacement (both Lumbar and Cervical) as well as indirect decompression of the neural canal using interspinous distraction devices. He has also run courses teaching percutaneous fusion of the cervical spine and sacroiliac joints.
Mr Bull has experience writing medical reports for both negligence and personal injury cases.
