Neuroradiology
Dermot Mallon is a consultant neuroradiologist at the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery and an honorary consultant neuroradiologist at Moorfields Eye Hospital.
He completed his radiology and academic training at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Imperial College London. His subspecialist interests include disorders of the skull base and orbits, neurodegeneration, neuro-oncology, stroke, and genetic and acquired vasculopathies. He leads imaging at two national referral MDTs for haemorrhage and moyamoya disease.
Following a PhD, an Academic Clinical Fellowship, and a Clinical Lectureship, he has continued his research at the Queen Square Institute of Neurology through funding from the UCLH/UCL Biomedical Research Centre. Having published over 40 articles, his research interests include the use of advanced perfusion and metabolic imaging in stroke and neuro-oncology, and the clinical application of artificial intelligence in neuroradiology.
