I am a Consultant Neurosurgeon with over 17 years of consultant level experience, appointed in 2008, with broad and advanced clinical practice, spanning functional neurosurgery, degenerative spine and neuro-oncology. My specialist expertise includes deep brain stimulation (DBS) for movement disorders/pain/epilepsy, surgical management of epilepsy, trigeminal neuralgia, chronic pain, complex functional and neuro-oncology (particularly tumours in eloquent areas).

I am the Lead for Functional Neurosurgery at the Walton centre NHS Foundation Trust, where I direct national services for MRI-guided Focused ultrasound thalamothomy for movement disorders (north of England) and LITT (laser interstitial thermal therapy) program for epilepsy surgery. I have extensive experience in multidisciplinary management of movement disorders (tremors, PD dystonia), refractory epilepsy, cranial neuralgias as well as complex neuro-oncological cases.

I provide medico-legal reports in my areas of clinical expertise, including functional neurosurgery, epilepsy surgery, chronic pain, neuro-oncology and degenerative spine conditions as well as personal injury cases involving neurological trauma (cranial and spinal).

My opinion is informed by long-term  senior practice, national leadership roles and detailed understanding of modern neurosurgical standards, innovation pathways and NHS Governance.
