Ms. Carolyn Leech

I have nearly 20 years’ experience within statutory adult social care. I have worked in both short and long term, fast-paced and complex work such as Adult front door/duty, safeguarding, continuing healthcare, risk management multi-disciplinary work for people with capacity, hospital and community work. This has made me resilient as I adapt and adjust easily having worked in different authorities.

My main strengths are communicating ambiguous concepts in policy, procedures and law. I have been described as thorough and whilst this lends itself well to complex scenarios, I manage to balance this with throughput. I like to maintain a strong customer focus in acting as an advocate, promoting diversity whilst being mindful of boundaries and scope of my/our authority such as mindfulness of cost. I actively seek feedback from colleagues, managers during supervision, peer group discussions and my own forms to fulfil the Social Work England Continuous Professional Development requirements. 

I hold a full Practice Educator Award and would like opportunities to keep my currency up to date as I have been described as patient, supportive, passionate and knowledgeable. I possess an excellent command of the English language and can also speak elementary Kiswahili, Kikuyu and French and I am also proficient with Information Technology having used different software systems like Liquid Logic, Mosaic, Carefirst to name a few. 

I consider myself an empath yet I possess high Emotional Quotient to balance compassion with professionalism when working within high stress demand settings such as providing supervision to a small group of newly qualified staff whilst carrying a small complex caseload.
