Dr Nicholas Kosky is a Consultant Psychiatrist with more than 30 years’ experience in General Adult and Prison Psychiatry. Alongside his clinical practice, he serves as a Judicial Office Holder in multiple tribunal jurisdictions and has previously acted as a Specialist Member of the Parole Board.
His career combines frontline clinical work, senior NHS leadership, national policy development and medicolegal practice. He has chaired several NICE guideline development groups and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr Kosky’s medicolegal work spans civil, criminal, employment and Court of Protection proceedings. He is particularly interested in questions of psychiatric causation, diagnostic reliability, capacity and risk, and has prepared around 20 reports a year for medioc legal purposes.
He is known for clear, structured and independent expert reports that assist the court by setting out both strengths and limitations of the available evidence.
