I am a portfolio GP working in a variety of roles, including NHS GP, out of hours emergency work and private healthcare and have been and am currently the resident GP for several National Newspapers, BBC Radio London and TV News Shows where I advise on a varied range of medical topics currently in the news.

I have served as a NICE Guideline committee member (Thyroid disease) and as such, I am skilled at using critical appraisal skills to apply critical analysis to medical timelines, application and adherence to guidance and good practice.

I regularly attend courses or updates to keep my knowledge fresh and relevant.

Medicolegal Expertise

As a practicing General Practitioner who keeps up to date with modern medical care, I am acutely aware of the natural history of personal injuries, the normal trajectory of these injuries and can provide robust reports in respect of arising personal injury cases. In my day to day role I have seen a vast array of personal injuries and am able to assess the causes, contributing factors and the natural trajectory. 

I have completed the Cardiff University Bond Solon (CUBS) Expert Witness Certificate and examined a case which was complex and tested all skills required for this work.

In respect of potential negligence, my experience in quality care, puts me in a position to provide reports on care that falls below that which would be expected of a suitably qualified doctor.

My knowledge of the duty of a doctor in provision of care and the legal shift from a competent doctor to that of a competent patient as per the Montgomery vs Lanarkshire Health Board ruling places me in a position to undertake medical negligence cases relating to general practice.

My methodical approach to cases is something that helps the assessment of the value of cases and problems that might arise.
