I am Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 24 years of experience across building, infrastructure and civil engineering projects. I have held roles and fulfilled roles for Main Contractors, Specialist Contractors and Consultancies, before moving into Expert Witness and Expert advisory services.
I am experienced in adjudication and arbitration (SIAC rules), providing quantum opinion on subject matters such as forensic cost analysis, evaluation of disputed compensation events, loss and expense, damages and interest charges, with clear defensible quantum assessments, across a range of Contracts, such as bespoke terms, NEC3, NEC4 and JCT.
My core expertise was founded in the commercial management of contentious projects, including dispute avoidance and resolution, before moving into Expert appointments. In addition, I regularly provide advice on live projects to mitigate risk, prevent disputes and final account preparations. I have also served as a representative on a Dispute Resolution Board for an infrastructure Joint Venture Framework.
In addition to my quantity surveying background, I am an accredited NEC Project Manager (NEC3 and NEC4). I have significant experience with Option A, C, the Professional Services (PSC) and Supply Forms of Contract. I have provided specialise advice on Project Manager duties and obligations. I have significant experience in the review and determination of Defined Cost, the evaluation of compensation event (variations, or Relevant Event / Relevant Matters on JCT), and the cost of Defect correction.
