Consultant Community Paediatrician

Norfolk, London and surrounding areas
I am a Consultant Community Paediatrician with over 30 years of experience in neurodisability. I have worked as a consultant since 1999. Since 2012, I have acted as a paediatric expert witness in family, civil and criminal court proceedings
I act as a paediatric expert witness with substantial experience in preparing condition, prognosis and causation reports in cases involving complex disability. My areas of expertise include genetic disorders, learning disabilities/ developmental delay, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, cerebral palsy, feeding difficulties, hearing impairment, sensorineural hearing loss, visual impairment and epilepsy. I have provided reports in several cases of use of teratogenic medications (Epilim/sodium valproate, Mycophenolate mofetil) during pregnancy, dealing with causation, condition and prognosis.
My medico-legal practice is limited to civil proceedings. I am instructed primarily in cases involving hypoxic-ischaemic perinatal brain injury and wrongful birth claims. I also provide causation opinions in cases of alleged hypoxic-ischaemic brain injury at birth. In addition, I advise NHS Resolution in early notification cases, with particular reference to the rehabilitation process and the identification of a child’s needs.
I am able to assess, evaluate and offer expert opinions in a wide range of cases involving paediatric neurodisability. I complete approximately 15 reports per year. This approach allows me to carry out comprehensive assessments of children and create detailed, well-structured and thorough reports.
