Mrs. Jean Phillips

I have over 30 years’ experience of working as a State Registered Occupational Therapist within both statutory services, charities and the private sector. I have worked within acute and community settings and specialised in the treatment of clients with neurological injuries but have extensive experience of assessing the needs and care planning for clients with a variety of physical conditions. I currently undertake regular clinical work for the NHS in a local GP surgery.

I have been providing evidence to the Court over the last 20 years, on behalf of Claimants and Defendants, compiling full care, aids and equipment reports. In particular I have considerable experience in acquired/traumatic brain injury, multi and complex orthopaedic injuries, complex regional pain and loss of services claims. I have given evidence in the High Court several times and am an Accredited Expert Witness through Cardiff University/Bond Solon.

As the Assistant Director of Jane James and Associates, for five years between 2012 and 2017, I had a key leadership role for maintaining, developing and improving service provision, as well as being the lead for recruitment, supervision and mentoring of all Expert Witnesses. At my previous Expert agency I was a quality assurance assessor, training new Experts.

I am also a qualified Adult Education Teacher with over ten years’ experience as a part time University Lecturer at the University of the West of England and as a senior trainer writing and delivering post graduate courses for a private Occupational Therapy training company nationwide. I have five years past experience as an Accredited Bereavement Counsellor for Cruse Bereavement Care.
