My principal areas of expertise are adult and paediatric strabismus, diplopia and complex ocular motility disorders. This includes cranial nerve palsies, restrictive and paralytic strabismus, recurrent or residual squint following previous surgery, and the functional consequences of impaired ocular alignment and binocular vision.

I also provide expert opinion in paediatric ophthalmology, including amblyopia, disorders of visual development, childhood visual impairment, cerebral visual impairment and the ophthalmic consequences of birth-related or neurological injury, including hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy. I have particular experience in retinopathy of prematurity, including screening, laser treatment and anti-VEGF therapy.

My expertise also encompasses cataract surgery, particularly cases involving postoperative diplopia, altered binocular vision, refractive outcome and the interaction between cataract or refractive surgery and pre-existing strabismus.

I have been a Consultant Ophthalmologist at University Hospital Southampton since 2013 and lead a tertiary referral practice for complex ocular motility cases and second opinions. I am fellowship-trained in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, having completed advanced fellowships at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, and Moorfields Eye Hospital.
